Can You Feed Dino Narcotics at Start of Tame

you can use em all at once and then you have time to do stuff and things

yeah a waste it'l be just like losing a tame to it waking up. everything iyou put in will disappear. just wait for the torpor to drop and remote use a bunch to raise it.

if it's torpor drops say 100 and you use them all . all 2k narcotics will do is raise it to the max and the rest are wasted. so IF you use them all at once you need to make sure the torpor is low enough so as to not waste them

Taming stats for a Lv120 Giga:

Time to tame with kibble: 03:39:32
Torpor Buffer: 00:03:42 (=time it needs to loose full torpor, 2035 Narcos needed for full torpor)
Narcotics Buffer: 04:31:20 (=the time for the 2035 Narcos to fully kick in)

So you see, you have to give it most of the needed Narcos at once if you want to do smth beside taming.
But you can also sit there and click Narcos for 3½ hours ;-)

i suppose it would matter when they were all used. early would be a waste wait for it to drop low then yeah but the original question seemed to infer that could /should he use them all at the onset of taming.

I see, then yes it would be a waste. I think the moment the torpor hits maximum every narco you gave him is "lost", so lets say if an animal has 4460/4500 torpor and you give him 10 narcos (equals 400 torpor) then it will go up to 4500 torpor and then instantly begin to drop, the same effect like you give him just 1 narco.

Thanks for the info, very helpful indeed.

I didn't want to sit there for 3 something hours and keep clicking narcotics and watching the torpor drop.

So just to confirm, I can dump all 2000+ narcs and it will last for 3 hours?

Yes, wait till the torpor is low then give him all Narcos he needs for full torpor and you´ve got time to do smth else.

Sorry, don't want to mess this up and have it wake up.

yes. if like in the example you its torpor is at 4500 /4600 2000 narcotcs would only raise its torpor 100 and the rest will be wasted. it does not stck ablove the max. so you would need the torpor to be a lot lower and then use all the narcotics. then the torpor would raise slowly until all the narcotics were used up and begin to drop. so lests say it takes 1hr for the natcotics to reach the max level then you would be able to go do something else for that hour and the lenght of time it took for it to lower to when you gave it the 2k narcotics

First, the "ideal" number of narcos you have to use depends on the torpor of your tame (which scales with the lvl of the tame).
Check the maximum torpor of the dino and divide it by 40 (every narco gives 40 torpor). Then you wait till the torpor is really low (the "low" value depends on how fast your tame loses torpor, don´t wait too long and risk it waking up) and then you remote feed as many Narcos as you need to completely fill the torpor.
Let´s say it has got 4000 torpor (this is just a random number for this example, gigas have much much more torpor!) and you wait till the torpor is at 1/4000 (impossible cause the torpor is going down faster, you´ll never hit 1 exactly and it will wake up, just example numbers) then you give him 100 Narcos (equals 4000 torpor) which would be the "perfect" situation. If you give him 110 narcos then 10 narcos are lost, if you give him 200 narcos then 100 are lost cause as i mentioned before, once the maximum torpor is reached it will immediately start again to drop.

Also, the Gigas torpor drops INSANELY fast, so be very carefull better to waste a couple hundres of narcos because once he wakes up everthing you used before (kibble, narcos) is wasted and you have to knock him out again.

Awesome and detailed information. Too bad I can't add a helpful user on the post. Now just have to wait for more rockarrot to grow. Unless someone comes one from another tribe that has some.
